For many people, the topic of wine can be intimidating: which one to choose, or, for
some, which one NOT to choose (i.e. the fear of making a mistake). No one wants
to bring the wrong wine to a party, or give the wrong wine as a gift, or order the
wrong wine for a nice dinner engagement. And while you may like Cabernets, it’s
probably not the best wine for the neighborhood fish fry party.

The
sommelier's at Incredible Wines & Spirits have decades of combined experience
in the field of wine, but more importantly, they have the desire to help you find the
right bottle – the one that works for you!

Our goal is to exceed your expectations. To that end, we pledge to listen to your
needs, learn about your tastes, and help you learn about and enjoy wine within your
comfort levels.

We’ve put together some basic tips on how to feel a bit more confident when
choosing a wine:

1. Take baby steps – learn about one or two varietals at a time.  As an example, if
you’ve wanted to learn about Sauvignon Blancs, start by sampling some from
around the world. One week you might try one from California with a dish of
SHRIMP AND MANGO SKEWERS WITH GUAVA-LIME GLAZE. Another time you
might want to try one from France’s Loire Valley with a dish of TARRAGON LIME
BAY SCALLOPS OVER ANGEL-HAIR PASTA. You get the idea – try some
different examples of the same grape until you find the one that suits you.

2. Stay within your budget – let’s say you want to try something new (e.g. new
grape, new style of blend), or perhaps just want to learn about Cabernets from
South America as you’ve been drinking Cabernets from California for years and
you’re ready to broaden your horizons. Nothing can discourage your thirst for
knowledge faster than to spend more than you’re comfortable with on a new wine
and find that it just doesn’t suit you.
